TURKEY READY TO PROVIDE AMPLE SUPPORT TO AFGHANISTAN -ERDOGAN

Turkey is prepared to provide all kinds of support to Afghanistan, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Saturday.

“Turkey is ready to provide all kinds of support for Afghanistan’s recovery if it adopts a similar attitude,” the president told reporters on a plane trip as they were returning from an official visit to Bosnia-Herzegovina.

“Turkey has a certain experience and infrastructure. Utilizing these, we would like to help. However, for us to be able to help, the gates need to be open. That’s why Turkish intelligence is currently meeting with Taliban interlocutors.”

Touching on women’s rights in Afghanistan, Erdogan said: “In my opinion, the Taliban’s approach to women won’t be what it was 20 years ago. They, too, will see the need for a change on this matter.”
