Wed 26 October 2022:
Google has revealed that its Home update will soon enable users to access their Nest camera and doorbell feeds online.
Users can quickly check in on live views in full screen, zoom in to see more detail, view camera status, and more from a web browser, according to the company.
“Google Home for web will be available as a preview as we continue to work on improving it and adding more popular camera features,” Rachel Taylor and Jacqueline Liang, Product Managers, Google Home, said in a blogpost.
“We hope you enjoy these new updates!” Taylor added.
Nest Cam (battery) and Nest Cam (wired), Nest Cam with floodlight (wired), Nest Doorbell (battery), Nest Doorbell (wired) aka Nest Hello, Nest Doorbell (wired, second-gen), Nest Cam Indoor and Nest Cam Outdoor, and Nest Cam IQ Indoor and Nest Cam IQ Outdoor are among the cameras that are supported for the web view.
Google revealed last month that its Google Home can now detect users’ presence using Nest speakers.
By going to the Features section in the settings, users of the Google Home app for Android and iOS can enable presence sensing.
In order to help detect activity in your home and enable automated actions, Home’s optional presence sensing feature can now interact with Nest speakers and smart displays.
