FIFA announced Wednesday that organizers had sold 1.8 million tickets for this year’s World Cup in Qatar, ahead of the next phase of ticket sales, which begins on July 5.

Fans in the Gulf Arab state have purchased the most tickets overall, according to FIFA, and a specific category of tickets that are exclusively accessible to residents of the host nation Qatar.

According to a press release from FIFA, Canada, England, France, Germany, India, Saudi Arabia, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States are the top nations where fans purchased tickets, followed by Qatar.

According to a spokesperson for FIFA, 3 million match tickets will be made available overall for the 28-day competition, which begins Nov. 21.

Qualifications for the World Cup have now concluded and all 32 available slots for the tournament have been secured.

Tickets for the next round of sales will be confirmed after payment on a first-come, first-served basis until August 16. At the end of April, the most recent round of ticket sales, which involved a random drawing, ended.
