Coalition conducts three airstrikes against Houthi militias at Al-Deylemi airbase near Sana’a’s international airport
Coalition forces carried out airstrikes against Houthi militias at al-Daylami airbase near Sanaa’s international airport, a military source told Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity.
The source did not provide information on the results of the attack.
Coalition forces conducted three airstrikes near the airport, said a Houthi spokesperson, according to the Houthi-operated Al Masirah satellite TV channel.
No information was disclosed about casualties and coalition forces have not yet released a statement on the incidents.
The Saudi-led coalition said Tuesday it intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile fired by Houthi rebels toward Saudi Arabia.
Coalition spokesman Col. Turki al-Maliki said the missile was fired from the northern Yemeni province of Saada towards Najran in southern Saudi Arabia.
He said the attack came hours after forces shot down a drone fired by Houthi rebels toward southern Aseer province.
Yemen has been beset by violence and chaos since 2014, when Houthi rebels overran much of the country, including Sana’a.
The crisis escalated in 2015 when a Saudi-led military coalition launched a devastating air campaign aimed at rolling back Houthi territorial gains.
Tens of thousands of Yemenis, including civilians, are believed to have been killed in the conflict, which has led to the world’s worst humanitarian crisis as millions remain at risk of starvation.
