Eight Gulf cities are among the top ten safest cities worldwide for 2025, according to Numbeo, a statistics website.
Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), ranked first globally as the safest city in the world for the ninth consecutive year since 2017.
Doha secured second place, with Dubai ranking fourth, Sharjah fifth, Ras Al Khaimah sixth, Ajman seventh and Muscat eighth in the list.
According to Emirates News Agency (WAM), Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, Ahmed Saif Al Muhairi, stated that this achievement reflects ongoing advancements, continuous development plans and the strategic use of artificial intelligence to enhance performance and achieve excellence.
Numbeo evaluates the quality of life across 87 countries and regions, considering statistical factors such as purchasing power, safety, healthcare, cost of living, real estate affordability, transportation, pollution and climate.
The website also relies on public surveys addressing topics such as consumer prices, crime rates and the quality of healthcare services.
