Sat 19 November 2022:

A new function has been made available to WhatsApp users on iOS and Android. Polls can now be made. Although the polls feature is not now available for WhatsApp Web, we anticipate that it will ultimately be added to the platform.

Survey results for both private and public discussions are available. In a poll, users can include up to 12 alternatives. In addition, WhatsApp will alert you if you type the same option more than once.

Here’s how users on iOS and Android may set up a poll on WhatsApp

Make sure you are updated to the latest version of WhatsApp on both iOS and Android.

Step 1: Open WhatsApp in your Android or iOS smartphones

Step 2: Now open the individual chat or group in which you want to create the poll.

Step 3: Next, tap on the attach button present at the side of the message box and tap on the Poll icon.

Step 4: In the create Poll window add your question and then options to select from. You can add up to 12 options.

Step 5: You can also tap and drag the ‘Hamburger ‘ icon available in the right side of poll options to change the order.

Step 6: Once you add questions and options, tap on the green send option.

Step 7: Your poll will be created.

The poll is automatically updated each time a new vote is added. Users can also view the information related to the poll like who viewed the poll results by tapping on the ‘view votes’ option. Just go to the poll and tap on “View Votes”. You will see poll details including who has given the vote and what option has been selected by the others.

Given how widespread WhatsApp groups have grown in our lives, many admins will probably find the new polls function appealing. It might make it simpler to reach a consensus among the group on some contentious subjects, such as scheduling a meeting or the day’s lunch.
