Tue 17 August 2021:

As a result of criticism over the emerging crisis in Afghanistan, Joe Biden’s approval rating has plummeted to its lowest point in his White House tenure.

The president has a 50 percent approval rating, according to FiveThirtyEight’s tracker, which compiles a weighted average of surveys.

Biden is facing harsh criticism over the consequences of the US military’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, which has resulted in a dip in support.

The plan to withdraw was announced by the previous administration, and it has been carried out by Biden.

As of August 13, the figure represented the lowest point in the tracker’s record since Biden’s inauguration. His disapproval rating, which is currently at 43.8 percent, is likewise at an all-time high.

Biden received 53 percent approval and 36 percent disapproval in the first survey taken after he took office.

On Sunday, the Taliban took control of Kabul. President Ashraf Ghani of Afghanistan has fled the nation, and many others have sought to do the same.

According to a Taliban official, the country would be renamed the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan soon.

Politicians have pounced on the situation and singled out Biden.
Former President Donald Trump called on Biden to resign over the incident on Sunday.
