CHINA TO REDUCE NUMBER OF ABORTIONS FOR NON-MEDICAL REASONS

The Chinese government plans to work to raise public awareness about reproductive health and minimize the number of abortions performed without medical necessity, according to the State Council’s 2021-2030 development plan for women and children, which was released on Monday.

Local governments must establish educational programs focusing on sexual health and morality for both women and men, according to the plan. More education about the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases will be required for women.
