Mon 18 October 2021:

“After a long delay, Afghan exports from Afghanistan through Central Asia to Australia, the United States and European countries have resumed,” said Emaruddin Stanekzai, head of international transit and transport.

According to Stanekzai, the export package includes hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of agricultural products, dried and fresh fruits and handicrafts.

Stanekzai says there are no problems with exports right now and they can take Afghan exports to the rest of the world.

“More than 100 tonnes of dried fruit, fresh fruit, carpets, saffron and handicrafts have been able to reach Australia, Europe, the Netherlands and other countries via Central Asia,” Stanekzai said.

Stanekzai says he is trying to solve the problems in the export and import sector and increase exports.

Mohammad Abdullah Bilal, head of Kabul Customs, said he was currently marketing Afghan products and exports and was in talks with a number of countries to facilitate trade and transit with Afghanistan.

“The Islamic Emirate is committed to exporting all of our country’s fruits and vegetables to other countries, whether in Europe, Central Asia or other countries,” Bilal said. “They are trying to get farmers and traders out of economic difficulties and sell their fruits and other vegetables at good prices and find a good market for them abroad.”

The process of transferring Afghan exports to other parts of the world began under the previous government, but with political and military change, everything came to a standstill and it started all over again.
