◼️ ANC lays criminal charges against DA leader Mark Burke over crypto company: “Burke served as the DA’s Federal Finance Chairperson while being associated with a company facing serious regulatory scrutiny,” the ANC said. “Publicly disclosed IEC records also indicate that he personally donated more than R202,000 to the DA during September–December 2025.” The ANC said it was not making findings that belong to courts or law enforcement agencies, but demanding answers.

◼️ South African bus drivers flock to Ireland: Dublin Bus says it currently employs about 4 500 people, including 3 400 drivers, and its workforce represents 96 countries. The company carried more than 165 million customers in 2025. The South African recruits arrive with something particularly useful already in their CVs: They hold the D licence needed to drive buses, rather than the ordinary B car licence required by most new Dublin recruits.

◼️ ‘Paul O’Sullivan was a double agent’: Mokotedi accuses O’Sullivan of operating as a foreign intelligence agent while disguising himself as an anti-corruption activist. “We succeeded in proving that he is working for foreign intelligence agencies. The aim is to capture crime intelligence and the State Security Agency (SSA). “His major assignment from his handlers is not about corruption; it is about identifying sleeper cells of radical Islamic movements in the country. His anti-corruption is a cover which gives him access to our law enforcement and security services,” he said.

◼️ Cape Town traffic officers go door-to-door over unpaid warrants: Traffic officers executed 160 warrants at 54 addresses across the metro on Wednesday as part of the City’s efforts to track down motorists over traffic transgressions. Sixteen people were arrested, while 39 were released on warning. Traffic Services spokesperson Kevin Jacobs said R110 000 in outstanding fines were also settled during the operation.

◼️ Water warning for people living in JHB and PTA: Officials have expressed concern over the steady rise in water consumption throughout the province, warning that reservoir and tower storage levels are declining even while pumping systems operate at or near full capacity. According to Mhlanga, the three metropolitan municipalities in Gauteng together use approximately 70% of the water supplied by the bulk provider, Rand Water.
