INSTAGRAM USERS REPORT THEIR ACCOUNTS BEING SUSPENDED AMID MYSTERY OUTAGE

Instagram has stopped working properly, and a large number of people have been notified that their account has been locked.

Instagram users are flooding social networking sites after being notified that their accounts are set to be permanently deleted. The warning messages began to emerge at 1 p.m. today, with several fans tweeting photographs of the alert, which warns that everything would be suspended by the end of today, October 31.

The caution then says the owner of the account has 30 days to disagree with the decision by clicking on a blue alert box. Instagram has now confirmed that its service is having issues with the team looking into the cause. In a post on Twitter,

the firm said: “We’re aware that some of you are having issues accessing your Instagram account. We’re looking into it and apologize for the inconvenience. #instagramdown”

There is currently no indication on what is generating the alert, but the statement hints that things are being closed because people are not following strict community guidelines. Some users have even reported that Instagram pages have been abruptly shut down.

Although not every Instagram user has been affected by the problem, several have confirmed that their followers have decreased and the number of people they follow has decreased. This is certainly attributable to the removal of a big number of accounts.

It is just the latest in a series of major technical issues. Fellow Meta app WhatsApp, for instance, was hit by its own significant technical problems last week.
