Thu 29 July 2021:
In the wake of a new wave of COVID-19 infections, Israel’s health minister said on Thursday that the Green Pass system would be reinstated.
Anyone above the age of 12 will need a vaccination certificate to visit venues or participate in events with 100 people or more, which include gyms, restaurants, conferences, tourism attractions, synagogues, mosques, and churches, according to the Green Pass’s outline.
Unvaccinated adults are required to present a negative COVID-19 test to enter gatherings. The measure doesn’t apply to those who have recovered from the disease.
The move comes a day after a panel of experts appointed by the health ministry advised the ministry to recommend the elderly to receive third vaccine shots.
More than 62 percent of the country’s 9.3 million citizens have been vaccinated with at least one dose and about 57 percent with two doses. Most of them received the Pfizer vaccine.
