Sat 02 January 2021:

A team from Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has discussed with UN officials plans to renovate schools in the Zaatari camp for Syrian refugees in Jordan.

The talks on Monday — with Sarah Oliva, director of the UN Development Program (UNDP) in Jordan, and Majda Al-Assaf, the UNDP’s deputy country director — are part of a cooperative effort to provide humanitarian aid for Syrian refugees in the country, support education and meet the needs of Syrian students, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Meanwhile, KSrelief is also helping Syrian refugees affected by a fire on Sunday at the Hanin Al-Minya camp in northern Lebanon. Three people were injured in the blaze, which broke out after a dispute between Lebanese and Syrian workers.

In addition to food, the center sent other essential aid for families, including tents, winter supplies and blankets.

KSrelief said the initiative is part of a commitment by the Kingdom, represented by the center, to provide humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees.
