Wed 15 July 2026:
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said Wednesday that any Israeli national found in the country would be deported immediately as authorities investigate claims that an Israeli was involved in the operations of a private residential community in the southern state of Johor.
Anwar said the relevant agencies were investigating the allegations and that the government would not compromise if they proved to be true, the English-language daily Free Malaysia Today reported.
“If we find any Israeli, we will deport them immediately because we do not recognize Israel,” he said.
Israeli passport holders are generally barred from entering Malaysia without special approval because the country does not recognize Israel.
The Home Ministry launched an investigation after the Johor state government called for a federal probe into allegations involving Network School, a startup community based in Johor.

The ministry said it was also working closely with all relevant ministries and agencies to ensure that all aspects under their respective jurisdictions are thoroughly reviewed in accordance with the law.
“Should the investigation’s findings reveal any violations of the law, misuse of immigration passes, provision of false information or any other offences that threaten national security and interests, firm action will be taken without compromise,” it said.
Earlier in the day, Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said there was public concern over the operations of the Network School, including allegations that Israeli nationals had participated in its programmes using second passports.
Onn Hafiz called on the Home Ministry, the Immigration Department, the police, the Customs Department and other security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation.
“Investigations should look into the identities and nationalities of those involved, their travel documents and alleged use of second passports, the type of passes used and the purpose of their entry into Malaysia, as well as whether their actual activities were consistent with the reasons for entering the country,” he said.
Separately, the Immigration Department said Wednesday that all 266 foreigners inspected at an international community in Forest City were found to have valid immigration documents.
