MICHAEL GAMBON, STAR OF HARRY POTTER DIES AGED 82

At the age of 82, Michael Gambon, a renowned British actor best remembered for playing Professor Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movie series, has passed away.

His family gave official confirmation on Thursday that he passed away peacefully in a hospital after battling pneumonia.

Over the course of his long career, Michael Gambon played a wide variety ofroles that brilliantly displayed his amazing talent.

His portrayal of Professor Dumbledore, the wise and enigmatic headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, endeared him to millions of fans worldwide.

He brought depth and gravitas to the character, seamlessly taking over the role from the late Richard Harris after the second film in the franchise.

Aside from his work in the magical world of Harry Potter, Gambon’s filmography was a testament to his versatility as an actor.

He lent his voice to the character of Franklin Bean in Wes Anderson’s “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” adding his distinctive charm to the animated adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic book.

Gambon appeared in many productions of works by William Shakespeare such as Othello, Hamlet, Macbeth, and Coriolanus.
