Sat 18 April 2026:
Poland experienced a record number of cyberattacks in 2025, with incidents rising by more than 140% year-on-year, the country’s digital affairs minister said Thursday.
Poland recorded 682,000 reports of cyber incidents last year, according to a cybersecurity report published by the Ministry of Digital Affairs.
“2025 was a record year in terms of attacks and incidents affecting Poland,” Digital Affairs Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski said at a news conference.
“The digital war being waged against Poland by other states is becoming increasingly visible in the data,” he added.
The minister warned that cyberattacks are increasingly targeting critical infrastructure such as water, energy and government systems.

In August, Polish authorities said they had thwarted an attempt to disrupt the water supply of a major city.
Polish officials have increasingly blamed Russia and other hostile states for the surge in cyber activity, arguing that Poland’s support for Ukraine and role as a logistics hub for Western aid have made it a prime focus.
Gawkowski has previously described Poland as “the main target” among NATO countries for Russian cyberattacks and said the government is spending record amounts on cybersecurity in response.
Last year, Warsaw announced more than 3 billion zlotys ($760 million) in new spending after a suspected Russian cyberattack on the Polish Press Agency spread a fake report claiming that Poland was mobilizing for war.
