A man has been raped in a park in Maidenhead, Berkshire. Thames Valley Police said he was found in a distressed state in Grenfell Park, which is situated near the town centre, at 3.33am on Saturday by a passer-by. The victim, who is in his 20s, told the member of the public he was raped near the park’s basketball court. Detective chief inspector Penny Mackenzie said: “This is an extremely serious offence and a thorough investigation is under way.
“We believe the victim was in Gordon’s bar in Queen Street, Maidenhead, last night or the early hours of this morning, where he met a man. “The victim and the man then left the bar and walked through Grenfell Park. “The victim was then raped by a man near the basketball court in the park.
