The chief of Ukraine’s military intelligence has claimed that Vladimir Putin may be using a physical duplicate.
Putin’s height and even his ears have changed in recent appearances, according to the recently appointed leader, Major General Kyrylo Budanov, who made the statement on Ukrainian television.
He made an appearance on the “Groshi” channel and said: “Let’s assume the image of the ears is different. Additionally, each person’s ear picture is distinctive, just like a fingerprint. It can’t be done again.”
According to the Ukrainian news outlet TSN, Budanov also said that the Russian president used body doubles to avoid public appearances and that he believed the Russian leader to be seriously ill.
The 69-year-old Presidents’ health has been brought up frequently by critics, and many claims have been made about it.
The International Business Times called it “one of the more unusual conspiracy theories” back in 2018, when a Twitter user cited three photographs of Putin across time to suggest that the ex-KGB spy was in fact three different people.
The so-called body doubles “had different habits, mannerisms, gaits, and sometimes, if you looked closely, different heights,” according to Budanov.
Putin may have utilised a double for his entrance at a summit in Tehran last month, the intelligence head previously claimed.
Budanov told the 1+1 new channel: “I will only hint. Please look at the moment of Putin’s exit from the plane. Is it Putin at all?”
Putin made the trip, which is just his second in five months, as one of the few overseas trips he is currently permitted to undertake as a result of his ongoing invasion of Ukraine. He met the presidents of Turkey and Iran at that location.
But the head of the CIA–as well as Britain’s MI6 chief–both cast doubt on those reports recently, stating at last month’s Aspen Security Forum that the Russian leader is apparently quite healthy.
This occurs as Putin’s invasion of Ukraine continues, with the east of the country experiencing the worst of the carnage.
Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, recently stated his wish to communicate with Xi Jinping, the president of China, on an individual basis in the hopes that China will use its influence with Russia to end the conflict.
So far, all diplomatic routes have been unsuccessful, and China has refused to condemn the incursion.
