RUSSIAN CYBERATTACKS TARGET UKRAINE’S ALLIES: MICROSOFT

News Desk World

Thu 23 June 2022:

According to tech giant Microsoft, Russian hackers are launching major cyberattacks against Ukraine’s Western allies.

The software company warned on Wednesday night that hackers were specifically targeting government computers in NATO member states. It also noted that while the United States was the main target, Microsoft’s experts had discovered cyberattacks on about 128 organizations in 42 other countries besides Ukraine.

The company reported that Russian hackers had successfully accessed 29% of the networks they attempted to assault, and that at least a quarter of these operations resulted in the data breaches.

Microsoft also emphasized that from the start of the conflict, Russia has launched both cyberattacks and missile attacks against Ukraine’s IT infrastructure. However, it said that due in large part to precautionary efforts, the country’s computer systems have proven to be extremely resistant to such attacks.
