Wed 07 October 2026:
Last week, a FlyDubai flight hijacked the news cycle, though no Israeli was hurt and no Israeli was injured. The aircraft landed safely, and Saudi medics checked on the Israeli passengers to confirm they were unharmed. None of that mattered. The internationally indicted criminal, Benjamin Netanyahu, was paraded on most American TV stations. It remains a top story across Western media, replayed on every network, dissected in endless segments about alleged threat to Israeli passengers. Serious questions about what happened in that flight remain unanswered. But the facts were never the point. Israelis felt unsafe, and feeling unsafe was enough to spin the news cycle for the better part of a week.
In that same week, 1st October, an Israeli Jewish mob with government issued guns, shot and murdered Mashour Yassin, a 51-year-old man, on the steps of his own home on the outskirts of Yasuf village near Ramallah. On the following day, another Jewish mob killed 19-year-old Bahaa Sami Amin al-Natsheh in Kobar village. Israeli bulldozers demolished Palestinian homes and uprooted olive trees, Israeli Jewish mobs and soldiers attacking farmers during the annual harvest season, an act of economic strangulation repeated every season it barely registers as news anymore.
In the West Bank, during September alone, Israeli Jewish mobs, the very settlers Netanyahu has dismissed as “juvenile delinquents” and their violence as a “hoax” carried out 647 attacks, killing three Palestinian civilians, injuring 88 others, and damaging or uprooting 14,600 trees, including 9,334 olive trees.
Not one of these Jewish murderers has been charged. Israel, a nation of Jewish “law and order,” prosecutes Palestinians by the thousands while shielding the Jews who murder them. This is the practice of institutional Israeli Jewish apartheid on the ground.
Consider this, Israel’s president pardoned Elor Azaria, an Israeli medic who shot a wounded, and disarmed Palestinian in the head. Last Week, Arab medics in Saudi Arabia checked on the well-being of Israeli passengers from FlyDubai. The Saudi medics did this one week after an Israeli Jewish medic was rewarded with a clean record for murdering a non-Jew.
These are not expressions of an opinion. They are documented by the UN, media outlets and human rights organisations. Yet, compare the coverage. A threat with no injury dominates the headlines. Israelis murdering Palestinians, burning Palestinian homes, an arson campaign and a presidential pardon for an execution are not deserving of the news and attention given to the theatrical FlyDubai incident.
Reframing the narratives is not just an editorial judgment. It is the product of a biased media apparatus that has, for almost eight decades, treated Palestinian life as negotiable and Israeli Jewish discomfort as sacred.
When Palestinians are murdered⎯their deaths are reduced to “collateral damage” or the result of a “handful” of rogue settlers⎯stripped of context and buried in passive euphemisms that obscure responsibility. When an Israeli or Zionist merely feels offended, it is labeled “hate” or “antisemitism,” and the German Holocaust is invoked to magnify the offense and deflect attention from Israeli war crimes.
In Gaza, three years on, the genocide, humiliation and starvation continue. An amputee returning from medical treatment in Egypt was ordered by the Israeli army to choose between his prosthetic leg and his wheelchair. He chose to return home, leaving behind his prosthetic limb, seized by the Israeli army. This is not an individual case; the World Health Organization reported last week that Israeli bureaucratic delays are blocking humanitarian aid into a health system in which not a single Gaza hospital is fully functional. Medical shipments wait at the border for a median of 74 days before approval, a process so arbitrary that a single shipment of prosthetics was rejected four separate times in six months. Standard health kits are rejected outright; X-ray machines and sterilization equipment are blocked routinely.
Meanwhile, the ceasefire that established the so-called “Board of Peace” has done nothing to end the genocide in Gaza. On 30th September, Israeli raid murdered seven Palestinians in two separate attacks, including a woman when an airstrike hit an apartment in Gaza City. Three days later, Israel targeted another apartment building before dawn, killing five Palestinians, four of them women, and setting the building ablaze.
Among the murdered were a Christian mother, Maisa Abu Dawoud, and her daughter Mary, a university lecturer, killed together in their home at 1:30 am. The Palestinian Christian community has lived through this same war as their Muslim compatriots, genocide, terrorised and starved as they watched their churches, their homes, and their lives swallowed into the same Israeli abyss of death and destruction.
Also, on September 30 and part of its war on witnesses, Israel murdered Muhammad Abdel Aziz al-Najjar, a Palestinian journalist, the 263rd journalist killed by Israel since October 2023. The 263rd act of erasure, 263 witnesses silenced and another pen or a camera destroyed. Every journalist’s death carried the weight of a war Israel has waged behind a media blackout, aided by a Western press that abandoned its journalistic duty and allowed Israel to control not only the battlefield, but the narrative of what the world is permitted to see.

Under the Israeli managed Western media, Palestinian death does not have equal value. But a threat against an Israeli is treated as a crisis demanding immediate attention. The killing of Palestinian civilians by Israeli Jewish mobs receives less attention than a story in which no Israeli was even hurt. It is not a single biased headline or an isolated editorial piece. It is sustained, repeated week after week, designed to numb the public conscience, to make Palestinian deaths seem routine, their suffering self-inflected, and their lives somehow worth less than Jewish Israeli inconvenience.
The Jewish mobs that murdered Mashour Yassin and Bahaa Sami Amin al-Natsheh are still roaming free in the West Bank. The army bulldozer that destroyed a season’s olive harvest will refill its tank and return to uproot more trees. In Gaza, in less than one year under the cover of Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace,” Israel has murdered 1,400 (almost 4 a day) and injured over 5,000 Palestinians.
Here is the juxtaposition in its darkest form. One side’s fear is news. The other side’s genocide is collateral damage. This is not a failure of journalism. It is a system functioning exactly as intended. An Israeli-first filter operated and owned by American Zionists, serves Israel’s interests, deciding whose fear is newsworthy and whose genocide gets filtered out.
