Fri 26 August 2022:

WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, is going to introduce iMessage-style profile photographs within group chats.

According to WABetaInfo, the platform intends to provide a long-requested feature: profile images of group participants.

In a future update of the app, when this functionality is available to beta testers, profile images of other group participants will appear next to all incoming messages within the group chat.

As happens with the reaction preview, there is no way to disable this feature since it will always be enabled by default for all group participants and there is no switch for it, the report said.

This feature is under development, so it is unclear when WhatsApp will release the changes to people.

Recently, the platform has started releasing a feature that lets group admins delete any message in the group to some lucky beta testers.

According to the report, it is a crucial tool for group managers because it allows them to better moderate their WhatsApp groups.

Furthermore, when a message is removed for everyone in the group, all other group members can see that a certain group admin deleted the message.
