Mon 22  August 2022:

The weekend murder of Darya Dugina, the daughter of an ultra-nationalist Russian ideologue, was allegedly carried out by Ukrainian secret services, according to allegations made by Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) on Monday.

Dugina, the daughter of well-known ideologist Alexander Dugin, was killed on Saturday night when the Toyota Land Cruiser she was driving was blown up by an alleged explosive device, according to Russian investigators. Ukraine has rejected being involved.

The Russian Investigative Committee established that an explosive device was planted under the bottom of the car, on the driver’s side.

“The crime was prepared and committed by the Ukrainian special services. The performer is a citizen of Ukraine Vovk Natalya … born in 1979, who arrived in Russia on July 23, 2022, together with her daughter … In order to organize the murder of D. Dugina and obtain information about her lifestyle, they rented an apartment in Moscow in the house where the deceased lived,” the FSB said.

After the remotely controlled explosion of Dugina’s car, Vovk with her daughter left for Estonia through the Pskov Region, the FSB added.

Russia's feared FSB spy agency claimed the SBU - Kyiv's special forces - were behind the murder and alleged a woman called Natalia Vovk (pictured: her identity card), born in 1979, carried out the hit

The assailant had attended an event outside Moscow on Saturday evening which Dugina and her father were also at, before carrying out a “controlled explosion” of Dugina’s car, and fleeing Russia to Estonia, the FSB was quoted as saying.

‘A Mini Cooper was used to spy on the girl [Dugina]. Numbers were changed on it three times – the license plates of the DPR, Kazakhstan and Ukraine were used,’ reported SHOT media.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Sunday.

“If the Ukrainian involvement is confirmed – and this version was voiced by the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin, and it should be verified by the competent authorities – then we need to talk about the policy of state terrorism pursued by the Kiev regime,” Zakharova said on Telegram.

We need only victory

In a letter expressing condolences to Dugin and his wife that was released by the Kremlin, Putin denounced the “cruel and treacherous” killing of Dugina, hailing her as a “bright, talented person with a real Russian heart — kind, loving, responsive and open.”

Dugin released a statement describing his daughter as a “rising star” who was “treacherously killed by enemies of Russia.”

“Our hearts are longing not just for revenge and retaliation, it would be too petty, not in Russia style,” Dugin wrote. “We need only victory.”

Critical of Putin

According to Newyork post Just hours before the blast that killed his daughter, Dugin — a philosopher, writer and ultranationalist political theorist advocating for the creating of a new Russian empire — had written a post on his Telegram channel, arguing that “the status quo in Russia theoretically could last no longer than six months.”

He said that Kyiv’s “desperate resistance” demands “significant — cardinal — internal transformations. Structural, ideological, staffing, institutional, strategic.”

Russia's counterintelligence agency FSB accused Ukrainian special services operative Natalia Vovk of blowing up Darya Dugina's SUV. Dugina is seen with her father.

“I realize that those in power are used to governing as they always have done — more or less effectively – for the past 22 years. But that period is in the past,” Dugin wrote. “(Special military operation) already has changed everything. Now the question is not whether those in power would or would not want to make changes… changes are inevitable.”

Dugin opined that the war in Ukraine is now “more important than those in power.” He then added: “let the old regime bury its dead. A new Russian era is beginning. it’s inevitable.”
