MUSLIM YOUTH IN INDIA BEATEN TO DEATH BY POLICEMEN FOR SELLING VEGETABLE

Faisal Husain,a teenager  was allegedly beaten to death by policemen in Uttar Pradesh.

The incident occurred in Bangarmau in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday.

Two constables and a home guard jawan have been booked for murder.

The trio had allegedly beaten up Mohammad Faisal Husain, 18, for selling vegetables during the Coronavirus restrictions on Friday. He received multiple injuries and was taken to the hospital, where he later succumbed to the injuries.

 

According to the deceased’ kin, he had gone out to sell vegetables when the policemen picked him up. They beat him brutally at the police station, said the family members. After the victim’s condition worsened, they left the spot. The injured victim was subsequently taken to the hospital.

 

However, the victim, Mohammad Faisal Husain had received critical injuries and he couldn’t be saved. The family members were shell-shocked with the incident– the assault and the death. Senior officials promised that action would be taken. Later in the day, the FIR was registered.

The family said that Vijay Chaudhary,a policeman first caught Faisal and beat him in the presence of other police personnel, as per the complaint. When the family reached  the spot, the policemen who were involved in the incident had already left, abandoning the motorcycle, says the deceased’s brother in the statement.

Three personnel including the policemen and home guard jawan have been charged with murder. Additional SP later told media that a youth (Faisal) was brought to police where his condition deteriorated, he was rushed to the hospital, where he died. ‘On the complaint of his brother, an FIR has been registered against three personnel. All of them have been suspended and disciplinary action has been recommended”.
