Sun 12 September 2021:

According to French media reports on Sunday, more than 100 people were arrested by the French police during protests against health passes in Paris.

On Saturday, another protest against health passes took place in Paris, marking the ninth weekend of nationwide rallies in a row. To prevent conflicts between police and demonstrators, law enforcement had to use tear gas.

According to the police, 104 demonstrators were arrested and 187 protesters were fined, according to the BFMTV station.

Over 120,000 people took part in Saturday demonstrations across France, according to the French interior ministry, with 19,000 in Paris alone.

In July, President Emmanuel Macron announced a number of restrictions to contain the spread of COVID-19, including the mandatory use of health passes indicating either immunity against COVID-19 or a negative PCR test – in bars, restaurants, airplanes and long-distance trains starting from August.
