RUSSIA BLACKLISTS 25 US CITIZENS INCLUDING SEAN PENN AND BEN STILLER

Russia has blacklisted 25 more US citizens “in response to the Biden administration’s constant sanctions against Russian citizens,” the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in Moscow on Monday.

Political, cultural, and business leaders like actors Ben Stiller and Sean Penn are among those who are banned. Due of their political ties to Ukraine in response to the Russian invasion, the two actors are included on the list.

The support of Ukraine that Penn and Stiller have shown has been highly received by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Several CEOs and members of Congress are included on the blacklist with the actors.

The highest-ranking politician on the recent expansion is the US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. President Joe Biden was previously sanctioned in March.

“The hostile actions of the American authorities, which continue to follow a Russophobic course, destroying bilateral ties and escalating confrontation between Russia and the United States, will continue to receive a decisive rebuff,” the statement said.
