SAUDI COALITION TARGETS IRGC SITE IN YEMEN’S SANAA: REPORT

Middle East World

Tue 30 November 2021:

According to state television, the Arab coalition fighting in Yemen said on Tuesday that it launched air raids on “legitimate” Houthi military targets in the capital Sanaa, including a “secret” Iranian Revolutionary Guards site.

Civilians were asked not to gather around or approach potential targets by the coalition.

Three air strikes by the coalition hit Sanaa airport, while a fourth raid targeted a park, according to Al Masirah TV, the main broadcaster of the Iran-backed Houthis.

The raid is one of several carried out by the coalition this month over Sanaa, Yemen’s densely populated capital.

Houthis have repeatedly launched cross-border attacks on the Kingdom using drones and missiles since the coalition intervened in Yemen in March 2015 after the movement ousted the internationally-recognized government from the capital.

The war is widely regarded as a proxy war. The Houthis are launching an offensive in Marib, the government’s last stronghold in northern Yemen, as well as other parts of the country.
